ABOUT THE SEMINAR
The structural Integrity of the Civil Engineering infrastructures is essential for the safety, productivity and quality of life of the society. This integrity is often a concern due to the ageing of the infrastructure, the occurrence of earthquake, exposure to wind and ocean waves, soil movement, excessive loading, temperature excursions and terrorism. Thus there is need for monitoring damage non-destructively, so that timely repair or retirement of structures takes place. Structural health monitoring is valuable for structures for the purpose of hazard mitigation. An innovative mature sensing technology using smart materials is the current trend in structural health monitoring to achieve these goals. Hence knowledge and expertise in the modern trends of smart materials are necessary. Hence the proposed seminar will provide the cutting edge aspects of Diagnosis of Structures through NDT. The purpose of the seminar is to gather scientists, researchers from various parts of the nation on a common platform to share their views and disseminate the information.
